When Puneet Kumar download the Urban Company app, little did he know that it was going to be a ‘healthy’ decision for him. Being completely oblivious to the technicalities of the application, he couldn’t use it to its full capabilities. After getting in touch with the executives at Urban Company, he understood the tricks and since then, he’s never looked back.
What started as a humble journey from developing contacts through word of mouth has become a sprawling business. His journey started from a small ashram in Dehradun where he learnt yoga. Since he didn’t have a permanent job, he started giving yoga lessons in different ashrams across the city. He hopped from place to place in search of a good job and continued giving yoga lessons in multiple ashrams. However ,he soon realised that it wasn’t working out too well for him. He started getting new clients consistently but to cater to them, he had to rent a studio which cost him thirty thousand a month, saving only a fraction of his income. He tried promoting himself on a lot of different platforms, but it wasn’t of any use. And then a friendly advice changed his life.
Puneet shares, _“I downloaded the app after my contact in Mumbai told me to. He had booked a carpenter from the app and told me there were yoga teachers listed too. When I saw their detailed profile and read about the company, I knew I was on to something. Something so big that would change my life for better.”
In his first 10 responses, he converted 7 clients from Urban Company. Over the next few months, he went from renting an apartment in Mumbai to owning a 1 bedroom apartment, to buying his own car and to increasing his monthly income to over INR 1 lakh. As unbelievable as it sounds, he has targeted to earn about 2.5 lakhs from Urban Company in the month of March. With an investment of INR 17,000 on Urban Company, he has been able to expand his business by setting up a studio and creating more opportunities for his family members.
His is not the only story of success. Ujjwal Bhatt who joined Urban Company in November 2016 as a Yoga Trainer shares a similar tale of struggle and success.
