“When you laugh you change when you change the whole world changes,” says Dr. Madan Kataria and we couldn’t agree more. Every sunrise exemplifies a new beginning. We can either embark our day with peace and solace or start it with stress in our mind; the choice lies in our hands.
We introduce you to the most fun-oriented yoga practice of all times,
Laughter</format>. It comes with so many benefits that there is no reason not to laugh. The first celebration of the world laughter day took place in Mumbai, India, and was arranged by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide
Laughter Yoga Movement. Since then, it is celebrated on the first Sunday of May every year.
But why
laughter yoga, is the question that arises in our mind. We have with us Mr.Sohan Chahal to share his experiences and experiments
with Yoga. He also shared with us some great benefits of Laughter yoga:
“We need to understand the importance of
Yoga. Many a time we do not realize that we are not giving our 100% in our daily lives, not because we are not capable enough but because our minds and bodies are stressed.”
Yoga as a stress buster
More contagious than cold or sneeze, laughter is one of the finest and easiest to practice anti-stress measures. While laughing we do not have any conscious thought process, and all our senses naturally and effortlessly harmonize. It brings instant relaxation, increases blood circulation and results in lower levels stress.
Yoga for a healthy life:
“When we laugh, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a fake laugh or a natural one. It has the same impact on the working of our mind” says Mr. Sohan, “We all can laugh while we’re having a good time, but how does one laugh while facing the tough challenges of day to day life?” he adds on. Laughter helps us create a positive mindset, and eradicates the negativity from our minds.
Yoga for the old age
A good hearty laughter every day keeps a person in a good cheer. It is the best medicine for senior citizens. Not only does it help them get rid of worry and depression, it also touches their emotional core and alleviates the strange feelings of isolation and loneliness.
“Laughter yoga combines laughter
with yogabreathing exercises. It approaches laughter as a body exercise, so it’s easy to laugh even when you are depressed, or in a bad mood. I have tried it and it works”: Oprah Winfrey
